Courtyard and Gardens

In the courtyard is the “Little Singing River” model of the Tennessee River before the building of the dams. Children can wade, move stones to change the course of the river, and play with boats. They can also build a child-size model of a log cabin with our Builder Boards, explore the Native American bluff shelter, ride in a replica of a Florence Wagon Works wagon, and walk along the Butterfly Trail and Butterfly Garden to enjoy our favorite “wildlife.” The gardens beyond are also open for field trips and teaching about herb and vegetable gardening.
